PACE Connections
Early Intervention is the key to enabling children diagnosed with Autism to achieve their full potential. Part of PACE Children’s Services, PACE Connections is an affect-based early intervention program in West San Jose originally established in 2004. Our comprehensive program serves infants to six year olds and covers early intervention therapy, a preschool and play group, and parent training and support.
At PACE Connections, we believe that programs should be built around each child’s particular learning style. We blend multiple methodologies that in collaboration provide for the child’s unique needs. We work on communication, sensory integration, social-relatedness, gross and fine motor development, play, and self-help skills.
Early Intervention Therapy
- Intensive one-on-one therapy tailored to jumpstart the child’s educational experience
* Two hour sessions, 8 to 20 hours per week
* Facilitated by our trained and experienced Developmental Therapists - Home-based and/or center-based therapy
- Speech Therapy and Occupational Therapy assessment and services also available
- Can either be the core of a child’s program or a supplemental addition to round out existing programs
- Goal is to give each child the skills to transition to a classroom-based setting as quickly as possible
- The child’s team (Therapists, Case Manager and parents) correspond weekly and meet monthly about the child’s curriculum and progress
- We use video recording in order to tailor a child’s program, monitor growth, and provide feedback to parents
