Methodologies
PACE Connections
At PACE Connections, we believe that programs should be built around each child’s particular learning style. We blend multiple methodologies that in collaboration provide for the unique needs of the child.
- DIR/Floortime (Developmental, Individual Difference, Relationship-based Model): Addresses developmental disorders based on affect for communication and emotion. Provides techniques for building a child’s emotional reciprocity and engagement. To learn more, visit www.floortime.org
. - Son-Rise: A treatment modality based on joining children in their world instead of going against them. Places parents as key teachers, therapists and directors of their own programs. Joint Attention is an "established evidence-based practice" according to The National Autism Center's National Standards Report on Autism. To learn more, visit www.autismtreatmentcenter.org
. - TEACCH (Treatment and Education of Autistic and related Communication-handicapped Children): a structured educational approach based on the belief that children with Autism often require increased order to their day. To learn more, visit teacch.com

FACES
FACES utilizies intensive behavioral early intervention therapy, or ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis). The approach primarily uses monitoring and positive reinforcement or prompting to teach each step of a behavior. FACES endorses least-restrictive teaching practices, such as naturalistic teaching and incidental teaching. The potential benefits of ABA therapy have been recognized by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Research, the National Research Council, and the American Academy of Pediatrics.
